FA cup 5th round beckons

" Its Payback time " reads Sporting Life's front page. Sports reporter David Spence reckons United are going into this game with a lot of baggage from the away goal loss that booted them out of the league cup and hes not entirely sure thatd a good thing.

" United have a history of bouncing back and Alan knows how to motivate his players. But United also have the worst disciplinary record this season. Muzar ( Milan ) and Martinetti arent exactly the most even tempered defenders and I reckon Tottenham will have noted that. " ... he writes.

Clark V/S McCready

The mindgames have already begun. Lee Clark's been quoted this morning ... " We're looking forward to another 90 minutes with United. We beat them once and the lads know what it takes to do it again. "

United have been disappointing in the FA cup past seasons and it is something that will be on Alan McCready's mind as he heads into the international week before the game.

There are also injury worries for united. With Jamie Wilson away on international duty and Martinetti injured, it leaves Wellington Tamayo to fill in at left back. Tamayo will only return from his international duties the night before the game Will that be enough rest for a players whos started a big chunk of United's games this season ?

On the brighter side, Dom Ferguson seemes to have recovered well from the twisted knee he pulled up 4 weeks back. We asked Alan if he thought Dominic would be in the starting line up.

" Its too early to say. He's looked sharp in training but he's only just started training following his injury. The knee will still be stiff and i dont know if we want to risk Dom. He's always wanting to get back and play ... but we'll have to see what Neil ( Hough ; Physio ) and David Strudwick ( Fitness coach ) have to say. "

United fans will have their fingers crossed. Dominic's been out for a large portion of the season with month long lay offs and nigling knee injuries. He's still managed a terrific return of 12 goals in 18 games. Heres hoping for the best.

Watch out Tottenham!
