Manager Profile

Alan McCready born 12th November 1947, is a Scottish Manager, currently in charge of Manchester United. He has been in charge of the Red Devils since March of 2019, following the departure of Martin O'Neil due to the poor showing from the club under O'Neil's tenure.

Having been a influential midfielder with a playing career including appearances for clubs such as Aberdeen, Celtic, Olympique Lyonnais and the Scottish national team, McCready turned to management following his retirement from football. Starting out as a coach and assistant manager for his former club Celtic, McCready made the move to English football with his appointment as manager of Newcastle 2010.

McCready's rise in international football as a manager has been prolific. Having lead Newcastle to promotion in their first season he went on to forge Newcastle into a world class club that won the premier league 4 times in a row and notched up 3 Champions league victories along with several FA Cup and League Up victories. Following a nine year tenure at The Magpies, McCready parted ways with Newcastle over issues regarding club management with then newly appointed chairman Alan Stanley.

McCready went on to take a 3 month absence from football management only to return in March following O'Neil's sacking as Manager of the Red Devils.

Under his reign the Red Devils are rising back to become a dominant force in club football as they once were. From 2019 to 2022 McCready has guided his team to 2 premier league victories and a champions league final appearance. Despite their return to dominance, Newcastle Utd and Manchester City are still the clubs to beat in top flight premier league football.
