Update 1 : The first post and a match update.

Welcome!

The site is just coming up and lots of info and links are yet to go up ! But FM10manager thought we'd start up with a season and match update anyway.

Year : 2023
Month : Jan

Feb is about to start and it's bringing up possibly the hardest part of the season. 4 away games in a row, including a Champions League knockout round 1 match ( Even if it is against Shaktar ). We are perched atop the table with a comfortable gap above Newcastle in second place, but 4 away games in a row can kill form and confidence if results don't go our way.

So here are some updates as far as the season goes :

TRANSFER WINDOW : JANUARY ROUND UP

United completed possibly the biggest signing of the Jan window. Michal Svec from Dortmund for 38 million Euros. Looks like a good signing of a 23 year old left winger, to fill the void left behind by the departure of Fernando who went to Schalke for 11 Mil.

Manager's views : " Svec's got terrific potential. Premier league football is definitely on a different physical level than he's used to but im confident he can step up. We need a creative force down the left wing and I think Svec can provide that.

We've got youngsters coming through on the wing, like Scardovi, but he lacks experience and playing understudy to Svec for the next few years can really help. "

United also signed youngsters :

English midfielder Adam Power from Wolves
Finnish Defender Rauno Nurmi from Haka
Ukrainian Keeper Oleg Propokov from Metalist

The manager has high hopes for these under 18s and i'm sure we'll hear a lot more about them through the course of the season.

SEASON UPDATE

Premier League Standings

The view from the top is nice! After a nerve wracking December and Jan with only a 1 point difference between United and Newcastle. Jan has seen Newcastle lose steam with draws against Chelsea and Stoke.

United have come through fairly unscathed and perhaps well poised to focus more on the FA cup and Champions league after a super period of play between December and Jan has seen them open up a 7 point gap with a game in hand.

A league cup exit on away goals to Tottenham was painful to swallow but with yet another league crown, champions league and FA cup prospects open, fans arent too disappointed.

MATCH IN FOCUS

United 3
Wolves 0

A superb performance on the back of a 1-2 loss to Chelsea. The Manager was fuming after a home loss to Chelsea. Changes were made and words were spoken. United came out hungry for a win and 90 mins of complete dominance followed.

Midfield Superstar David McCabe, new boy Michal Svec and 18 year old prodigy Andy Welsh hit the back of the net as United set up flowing moves in both halves and could have ended the game with many more goals scored.

The three goal scorers also happened to set each other up for the goals they scored. Something that will please the Manager whos been lamenting the lack of assists all season.

Manager's Pick for Man of the Match :

" McCabe ... Definitely. He could have had five goals himself if he'd hit the target more often. He controlled all the attacking pressure up front and caused the Wolves defence to make mistakes. He's been a little inconsistent this season and has gotten a little bit of flack from the fans. Hopefully that performance will put him in better stead. He's been looking better and better since that 2 month lay off in the beginning of the season. I think he's getting back to top gear now.

Svec deserves mention most certainly. Top notch performance and probably not too far off from McCabes level of performance today."
